Development of Smart Solutions Based on Linking Fire Testing with Computer-aided Modelling to Improve the Quality of Safety Research Outputs
The rationale of the project
An important contribution of the project implementation is the development of tools that will contribute significantly to the optimization of decision-making processes of persons in managerial positions with responsibility for quality, risk and safety management (persons, property, environment) at the relevant geographical levels.
In particular, the fire models developed are an innovation expected in the long term in the field of fire testing method standardisation. Considering the results of their previous validation and application, especially abroad, it is possible to consider their gradual implementation in the process of creation of the above-mentioned fire testing standards in the form of substitution of the currently used methods of realization, especially of medium and large-scale fire tests. This will lead to a significant reduction in the energy and economic demands of their implementation in the field of testing and certification of materials and products.
The proposed solutions, methodology, linking the results of fire testing, image analysis and computeraided modelling for the needs of improving the quality of safety research outputs and the creation of decision-making and optimization models represents a comprehensive, progressive, and innovative approach to the acquisition and interpretation of results in the concept of Open Science for the field of Safety and Security Research. The design of model Smart solutions (including virtual reality) is fully in line with the latest international trendsin the subject area and is a significant contribution to strengthening fire protection and safety within the concept of building a safe Slovakia.
The project is focused on the development of new Smart solutions, the application of progressive fire testing methods and digital image analysis, which will enable the non-contact and non-destructive derivation of new properties of materials, which are essential for the description of fire dynamics and the design of effective measures in the field of fire protection and safety.
